Paula is a native Texan, born and raised in suburban Houston. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing, Paula embarked on a career in Retail Store Management with Foley's Department Store and later, with Coach Leatherware where she gained practical experience in business management, design, advertising and publishing.

In 1991, Paula started her own business offering design consulting services. In 2004, Paula re-located to Austin, Texas where she presently resides. 

Paula has published three books, Art In Austin...the registry (2008), Prologue...the art collection(2008), and Paula Parker Designs...collections(2007) .

Professional memberships include Go Texan, Gift and Home Decor Trade Association, Capital City A&M Club, Art Alliance of Austin, Pi Sigma Epsilon (Texas A&M Chapter, Professional Marketing Fraternity).
